Balloons, Burrito, and Pete Yorn... The Perfect Fall Morning

What is better than the Fall in New Mexico? I don't think there is anything. Not only is it absolutely colorful and beautiful right now, but that crisp thirty degree weather we woke up to, to go outside and enjoy the balloons was the best. Alan, Julie, Joe and I braved the large crowds at the balloon fiesta this morning. We tried to stay warm by drinking lots of cocoa, going through craft tents (where I spent way too much money on beads made out of paper by Ughandian women...) and just allowing the sheer excitement pulsing through our veins. After the Mass Ascension we headed off to the Frontier. We got massive burritos, huevos, carne adovada and lots of green chile of course. As I drove home "Burrito" by Pete Yorn came on the ipod. Very apropos.

Here is right before they all lift off. (Do you like our matching scarves?)

Look at all the shapes. Best ones this year were from Brazil. My personal fave was the locomotive engine. Very cool. Joe's fave? Darth Vader of course.

How fun! I love New Mexico! I've never been there, but I love it anyways because my dears Katie and Christan are New Mexicans! Some day I WILL come and visit and see the balloon festival!
