Holidays

I am way behind on the blog, but figured I could do one big catch up...
 Christmas
The holidays were spent with lots of food, family and fun as always.  Erika and her family were in town. It was great to be able to spend a traditional New Mexican Christmas with many of our nephews who never had before, complete with Posole, Tamales, Luminarias and the smell of Pinon to fill the air as we caroled. My favorite comment of the Christmas Eve was Charlie's. We had all of the kids go outside and set up the Luminarias, put them in place, and light the candles. Later that night as we drove around Old Town and saw all the the hundreds of thousands of Luminarias all Charlie could say " Wow! They must have had a ton of kids to do this job!"
Joe and I were Mary and Joseph in our makeshift Nativity. Yes Joe looks like he is wearing a sparkly dew rag, and has a painted-on goatee, but just roll with it.

Christmas Morning. Joe got more Lobo paraphernalia than any one man needs, but it seems to have been fruitful this basketball season.

Christmas with kids is the only way to celebrate. There were more toy cars, dinos, Star Wars and weapons that you could imagine.

Joe and I love to cook. Many of our gifts included things like our Panini press and a Smart Stick. More to come on the wonderful things we have made with it.

Bergsten kids, and that is including Sean. He left the next day to see his Girlfriend Emily and got stuck in the East Coast storm.

New Year's Eve
A bunch of us went out on New Year's Eve to enjoy a nice dinner out. It was fun to be with everyone and talk about our favorite things of 2010. Mine was Joe coming home after living in Illinois for 2 months. Joe's was the same, and passing the boards.

Joe and I joined Erin and Vince for dessert and non alcoholic champagne. It was one of many New Year's we have rung in together.

I think I am more concerned with Baby Jesus being kept in a cardboard box than I am with the do-rag. Besides, Hillary is usually the one sporting the goatee, so Joe looks highly natural by comparison. Wish we could have been there.
